Within one year of going door-to-door with his acoustic guitar and serenading people for money, Scotty James independently broke onto major radio in Canada and won the Bell Media Emerging Artist award in 2011. His single shortly charted on Billboard’s Emerging Artist chart and then hit top 40 on AC Billboard.
